The Wood Carver’s Guild of Frankenmuth meets every Wed & Thur at the Eagle’s Nest in Heritage Park in Frankenmuth, Michigan. A group of 15 to 20 members get together to carve on individual projects and to exchange ideas and help each other with carving problems. The carving session starts at about 9:00 am and ends about 12:00 pm. If that’s not enough there is Wednesday evening starting at 6 p.m. and lasts until everyone wants to quit. These informal sessions give the membership the opportunity to learn from the more experienced carvers working on their individual projects. One of our main objectives is to recruit new carvers and introduce them to the art of woodcarving. The Guild members demonstrate woodcarving at community functions such at various fairs and festivals. Members attend other carving club shows to show their own personal collections of carvings throughout the year. Some members also demonstrate and teach at local schools, seniors centers and other organizations. Our annual wood carver’s show is held each October. Social functions include an annual summer picnic and a Christmas party December of each year. Membership meetings also provide social interaction and getting acquainted. Established in 1975, we have over 100 members and growing. If you are interested in joining the Guild, dues are $20.00 per year. This also entitles you our monthly newsletter and a membership card. If you have an interest in wood carving, please come and visit us. VISITORS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! Here's a membership form if you'd like to join us. Eagle’s Nest Telephone: (989) 652-6097 |
